Welcome to Honors English 6/7/8. We are excited that you have taken the initiative to choose a more rigorous path for your education. Honors English students are expected to discuss literature thoughtfully, to read voraciously, to write willingly, and to present confidently. Most importantly, honors English students should have a genuine love for reading and writing.

Assigned reading outside of class time

Completing all assignments on time

A higher volume of reading, writing, and homework

The District Office determines Honors English placement.  The district office looks at multiple measures of achievement which include SBAC, IXL/IRL scores and lexile scores. Parents and students will be notified of honors placement via email and U.S. mail.  In addition, directions will be provided for the option to opt-out.
