We are pleased to inform you that Chico Unified School District will be implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) while participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs for the school year.
What does this mean for you and your children attending the school(s) identified below?
GREAT NEWS! ALL enrolled students of Chico Junior High, Bidwell Junior High, Fairview High, CAL, AFC, Oakdale Elementary and Oakdale Secondary, Step Up Academy, Citrus, Chapman, Emma Wilson, Little Chico Creek, and McManus are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2018-19 school year. Your child (ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.
If you are a household that will be sending children to a CEP school and a non-CEP school at the same time, you will need to complete a school meal application for your non-CEP students. If your household is both CEP and non-CEP please include all of your students regardless if they attend a CEP school or not.
During the school registration process, you will be required by Chico Unified School District to complete a simple Household Income Data Survey. It is so very important that you complete the data survey. This survey will help determine each schools state and local education funding determinations and for consideration for family fee waivers for other school programs; however, receipt of free breakfast and lunch meals does not depend on completing it. The income data provided will determine how your school receives funding from both the state and federal levels. You will receive more information directly from your students' school regarding the Household Income Data Survey.
