The BLAST Before and After School Program is provided at no cost to families and is a federally-funded program open to all Bidwell students. BLAST offers a highly structured environment that is designed to further students both academically and as responsible young adults.
The BLAST After School Program begins as the school day ends. Students start the program by scanning in with their unique ID card. After scanning in, students report to their assigned classroom for academic hour. During academic hour, students can work on assignments given to them by their teachers, receive help on material they are learning in class, or study for any upcoming tests or quizzes.
After homework hour, students have a short nutrition break, then they are off to an enrichment activity of their choice. Activities are always revolving, and can range from basketball and indoor soccer, to arts and crafts, and board games. During the enrichment activity time, there is always a quiet room available to students who want to receive more help on their assignments.
Program staff members are highly qualified and passionate about encouraging all students to work hard, have fun, and be the best Pioneer they can be. The program fills up quickly and a waiting list is put into place at the beginning of the school year, so please sign your student up early. We look forward to meeting you!
