BLAST (Best Life After School Team) is a free after school program, designed to help you and your child with support in academics and enrichment activities. We are designed to meet all needs of children in all content areas. Our program is used at other Junior Highs and High Schools in the Chico Unified School District.
Our BLAST program is designed as follows:
6:30a.m.- Until school begins
2:50-3:50-Homework Hour
Instructional Teachers
Math Tutors
Credit Recovery
Center for Success
Help Math
3:50-4:00-Nutritional Snack Time (Snacks Provided)
4:00-5:30-Enrichment Activities
Garden
Board Games
Tech Lab
Art Enrichment
Field Trips
Sport Activities (Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, ETC)
Drama-Tues & Thurs from 4-5pm
Roots and Shoots-Wednesdays- 8-9am AND 4-5pm
5:30-6:00- Clean up/Free Choice
Every student who attends either Chico Jr. High School or Bidwell High School will be automatically enrolled in our program. This will allow Principals, Teachers, and Counselors to add a student to one of our many programs if they feel necessary at any time of the year; eliminating the hassle of paperwork for you and making the enrollment process easy.
This program is open to all students and we encourage all parents to utilize the many opportunities the program has to offer.
Attendance Requirements for BLAST:

Each child (who chooses to enroll) should attend BLAST 3 days a week for 3 hours per day

Students will NO LONGER be able to sign themselves out until 5:00 each day. If parents need their child earlier than 5:00, they will have to come in to BLAST and sign that student out.
